what happened this week
i’ve been pretty slack this week. so let’s break it down:
monday, since the maid was coming that afternoon, i packed up the pooch and we headed on down to Dyke Marsh in alexandria for a walk along the river wetland wildlife sanctuary. we saw lots of pretty birds, startled one or two big ones that kind of freaked delia out. we also stumbled upon some meth-y lookin’ kids who were looking for an out of the way place to do bad things, so we got out of their way.
tuesday i dropped the car off at BMW of fairfax since they were running a special on bumper repair and paint so i thought i might as well get those nicks and scratches fixed. i had to rent a chevy cobalt and it’s the worst car in the entire world. apparently BMW of fairfax only provides loaners for cars being serviced not for cars being repaired. tuesday was also my birthday so after class i came home and mikey had American idol finale already queued up on the tv and the macaroni and cheese cooking on the stove. then he fell asleep and i stewed over the fact that crystal did not win. i like lee but i thought she should win. boys have won the last three idol crowns. mikey got me the blu-ray of madonna’s sticky and sweet tour even though i saw it live, i still like to collect all that stuff. i also joined the sugarland fan club so that i can get presale ticketes when they come to nissan pavilion in september which is now called jiffy lube live. i will never refer to it by that name because that is ridiculous. he also told me that for my birthday he was going to buy me the new iphone when it comes out sometime next month. my phone is broken and my ipod is broken so the iphone it is. i’m sure i will only use it to call, text and listen to music.
wednesday…walked everywhere since i’m too embarrassed to drive the chevy cobalt. mainly because it rattles so much and i’m convinced everyone can hear it when i drive by. discovered that walking around to work and to the gym is kind of fun since i get to listen to my crappy ipod.
thursday i had to turn in my midterm and i think i did pretty well on it.
friday i picked up my freshly painted car and decided that i will not drive it to work ever again. so i will be walking to the gym also. which is fine and exercise is good for me.
on saturday, we met trivia jason for lunch out in alexandria. we saw his new house and had lunch in some place called Del Ray (where the lesbians live). i’ve never been in that part of alexandria, but it’s cute. there are a million fuckin’ yoga studios. we out to eat for my birthday dinner at Piccolo in georgetown and i love that italian place. some bitch fell down the stairs next to our table and had be taken away in a neck brace on a stretcher to the ambulance. i was hoping as they took her out she would say “well, i’m never ordering that again!” but she didn’t. in fact, i think she and her friends are total scammers who do this kind of shit for a living. i mean, i feel like she took a swan dive down the stairs. then we went to level one to hang with brett at her bar and tim and irwin met us there and we had a lot to drink. well, not really, but more than i’ve had in a while.
today we played tennis, ran errands and made kabobs on our new grill pan.
it’s been a good week.
