this evening, after mikey’s parents departed for mechanicsville, va on their way to south florida, we were watching the US Figure Skating Championships (only because I stumbled upon it during a commercial during the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards–not that we’re gay or anything) and even though i knew none of these twelve year olds fighting for a spot on the olympic team, i couldn’t help but think back to the hey-day of figure skating–oh , you know, michelle kwan, surya bonaly, nancy kerrigan, nicole bobek, etc.  while googling all these chicks, i stumbled across ol’ tara lapinski who is OLDER than mikey.  lil bitchy tara lipinski, who stole the gold medal from michelle kwan, is OLDER than mikey.
