sinn at little washington
for the opening ceremonies of Mikey’s Birthday Olympics, I thought it would be nice to treat him to dinner at one of the best restaurants in the area, The Inn at Little Washington. Google it if you’ve never heard of it. it’s fantastic. i have been there before. the kitchen is amazing and makes me want to kick my own kitchen in the shins for not being good enough.
just how established is this joint? Julia Child celebrated her 90th birthday there and i’m sure whomever was forced to spoon feed her had a wonderful time. Julia Child is like best-friends-forever with the chef/owner. Well, not forever since she’s dead.
our day began with a trip to my sisters house for a visit since it is on the way and we had a nice chat and they forced me to help them move a giant TV three floors to their garage. plus, they have a cutie-pa-tooties puppy named Bella that i had not met yet, and she is the most adorable puppy in the world (sorry delia). then, since it too was on the way, we stopped by my brother’s house to visit. i kind of love where he lives. it’s quiet. people don’t let their small dogs outside alone for fear of being carried off by a hawk or a giant buzzard. it’s like living in a fairy tale or something. a fairy tale that has good beer, mind you.
so we arrive and are immediately greeted by twinky valet boys and are then whisked away to our table. we had wine, six courses i think. dessert…ooh lawd. The Seven Deadly Sins is so delicious. All the food was excellent and presented like works of art. i might not have always known what i was eating (hello, clear gelatin cubes) but everything was so good. And you can not beat the service. Except at the Cheesecake Factory obviously.
afterwards we walked around the quaint little town of Washington, Va, under the very starry sky and through all the gardens. There were a couple of old buildings for sale and of course we’re like “we could open a gay bar” and call it Sinn at Little Washington. We sort of met a townie who i think spends all her free time harassing the twinky valets.
The next time we go, i’m definitely booking one of the tables in the kitchen because that would be so cool. i might have to sell some organs so that i could afford it, but that kitchen is worth it.

Happy to hear you enjoyed the beer when you stopped by. Just be sure to help replenish the stock with a trip to Brickskeller for me
Glad you all had a good time at dinner!
