i’m sure i will be hunted down by the Avatards dressed as their favorite Na’vi sea monkeys for stating my opinion that Avatar is not the second coming of christ as most people are believing. it was fun, but it’s not the best film of the decade or the year.

i’m a james cameron fan. i hid my eyes during Aliens and Terminator when i was a kid, I loved T2 and True Lies. The Abyss is one of my favorite movies. okay, okay, i barely survived sitting through Titanic, but pre-ship, i’m a huge fan.

so Avatar, i’m like, uh, it was fun…the special effects are neat. the script is laughably terrible full of cameron cliches and signature characters and lines. i mean, even for Cameron it’s terrible. it’s got a frying pan of a message beating you in the face at every opportunity and to be perfectly honest, the Na’vi were kind of creepy and gross.

but Pandora itself was pretty. it looked like a video game.
