tv land
okay, here it goes, my top ten tv moments of 2009:
10. the men’s wimbledon final between roddick and federer. amazing. and then let’s also put in serena’s tirade at the us open just for fun. i know that i have threatened to kill more than my fair share of people in the name of competition (driving), so i feel ya girl.
9. american idol…watching america squirm with the new millenium’s version of boy george (seriouly, yes, he is), but still marveling at almost every one of adam lamberts performances. he brought some excitement back to idol. also, allison iraheta, whose new album i can’t stop listening to.
8. Wednesday night comedies! honestly i’m not sure how my tivo does it, but New Adventures of Old Christine, Glee, Modern Family and Cougartown…it’s good to have some intentional comedy (i’m side-eyeing you, reality tv) back on network tv.
7. Ugly Betty. which, coincidentally will be moving to wednesdays to join ABC comedy block…this show is fantastic and i can never say enough about it. hands down the best ensemble cast on television.
6. the inauguration coverage. better to sit and watch it on tv instead of being one of millions of idiots who went down to the mall at 3 in the morning, stood in 15 degree temperatures for hours, and got trapped in the 3rd street tunnel.
5. America’s next top model. shorties unite! a great final two.
4. Fa La La La Lifetime. Seriously, this is the 97.1 WASH FM of tv. so many xmas movies, so little time.
3. Greek. This show just gets better and better (and it’s on ABC Family) with fisting jokes and backstabbing sorority girls. There is no tv couple more charming than Casey and Cappie. they are the new Ross and Rachel.
2. Brooke Elliot on Drop Dead Diva. was there a more awesome plus size actress playing a skinny model trapped inside the body of a plus size attorney on tv this year? no.
and the number one best thing about TV this year: JANE LYNCH as sue sylvester on Glee. with jaw-droppingly offensive lines (yet still a tiny pinch of heart) she is the standout performer on any tv show this year. the whole cast is pretty good on glee, due to the excellent writing (special shout out to Brittney–the blonde cheerleader who is not pregant), but Jane Lynch, who we all love in so many other shows and movies, will be collecting the emmy for best supporting actress next year.
and the worst….
danny gokey.
project runway. BO-RING.
mtv’s jersey shore. i’m sorry, i can’t with these people.
