reflections
sigh…it’s been a busy week. we finished moving mikey’s stuff in today. just two car trips. well, three when i asked where his stand mixer was. lunch, errands, etc. then, when it became apparent that he and i differ on our unpacking procedures, i knew i had to vacate the premises and let him do his thing. it’s his house too, now, and so basically, he’s reorganized everything–which is great, efficient even, don’t get me wrong–but now i feel like i will be searching high and low for everything because it’s no longer where it once was.
“have you seen the stove?”
“uh, where did you put delia?”
i knew i had to leave when, noticing the kitchen remained in chaos, mikey was organizing his dvds even though he started with the kitchen, and after me nagging just once, i was like, uh, matt, time to get going, go to class early, get out of there before you piss him off. i called later to apologize and acknowledge that any move is stressful and i didn’t need to be adding stress to his unpacking. so i ventured off to class early.
i don’t think i’ll be talking much about school in this forum. i enjoy my class and some of my classmates immensely. i think i’ll just be keeping that separate for now.
legally fawn arrives tomorrow at one and then, as a special treat, i’m going to let her come with me to get my car cleaned because it desperately needs a cut and blowdry. on saturday we are heading down to williamsburg to wander campus, dine on some sandwiches from pauls or green leaf or go to one of the colonial taverns, then hit the delis in primetime for pitchers of beer. on sunday, weather permitting, it’s off to busch gardens for rollercoasters and faux european shenanigans.
i will bring my camera so expect a phantastically phun photo romp through the weekend upon my return. my goal is to somehow get a photo of fawn with a musket. or fawn in shackles. or fawn churning butter. you know, something colonial.

I would like a picture of Fawn milking a cow.
