it’s like five in the morning and i just watched the live coverage of serena williams completely dismantle dinara safina in the final of the australian open women’s final. destroy. humiliate. it was sad.
serena was unbelievable and, while my heart goes out to safina, it was as if she’d never stepped foot on a tennis court before. it would be like if i went out there and challenged serena. so let’s add up the statistics here: serena won her 4th australian championship, her 10th major overall, she also won the doubles final with sister venus, she takes over the number one ranking, she’s never lost in an australian open final and her record at the open is a remarkable 44-6. wow.
