i was filling in on monday night and sometimes that’s okay because everyone can use a little showtunes in their life. and as i left for home at the end of the evening i had this clip stuck in my head:
which then made me think of this and the fact that i went to zigfields on saturday contributed to this too:

and then after watching that a few times, even though i’d seen it a million times already, it reminded me of Sabrina White –miss gay america 2002–who, years, ago, i’d seen perform many many times at various venues and who does a kickass wonderwoman routine (in addition to ricky martin, reba macintire, cher and countless other–ooh, and a great gwen stefani that i saw at the hippo in b’more)…but i can’t find a video of her so i can only provide this like to her website in that wonder woman routine, she transitions from doing the theme song to wonderwoman to this song:
which, if you’ll look on youtube, quite possibly nearly every single drag queen in the world has performed at some point. here is one of my favorites:
the sound is awful and the video kind of makes you feel like you’re there, but really drunk and thinking, what the hell is going on and where are my friends?
and then all of this wraps up with my love for RuPauls Drag Race and monday night’s episode where we had to say goodbye to Ongina, the “boy in a dress”, who departed us much too soon (i’m throwing side eye at you Rebecca Glasscock).
