sticky and sweet
so madonna was fantastic. i’ve seen her four times now and i’m embarrassed to even think about all the money i’ve spent on her. while i wish i could have seen this latest show in NYC like i did the last two, philly was fine. the new york shows were just too soon after getting back from disney and i just couldn’t spend the money to make the trip up there. i think my seats for this show were the closest i’ve ever been. this is debatable because the ReInvention Tour in ‘04 was a such a drunken blur for me that i could have been sitting on madonna’s lap and not remember it. so i think this was the closest i’ve ever been. save for the Confessions Tour in ‘06, i’ve been on the floor at all her shows.

this was from the new album (my favorite song from it–she didn’t play my other favorite song “Incredible”) and while i’m not a huge fan of the new album, i think seeing her perform these songs live gave me a greater appreciation for them. it’s like baseball. or football. i don’t actually care for them, but there’s something exhilarating about seeing them live. here’s another highlight–Like a Prayer:
obviously seeing some slut’s horribly filmed youtube video is not the same thing as being there, but there ya go. i love these youtube clips because you hear the person singing along. and they sound terrible. which almost like hearing madonna live. ha ha. we can all agree she is not the best singer or dancer in the world (obviously that’s britney ;)), but no one can top her as a performer. what she managed to do on this stage–just wow. i was almost in tears the whole show, i had to keep telling myself not to cry since bernie was next to me and i try not to show emotion of any kind in front of my friends. she just made me so happy to be near her, so close and to hear all those songs that i grew up with…like Borderline
hm. that clip ended rather abruptly.

i hope when she’s just nothing but dust and gristle and cheekbones, she’ll still be out on tour.
