kibble nibbler and kimmie gibbler
i’ve been doing some extensive research into the eating habits of my dog. she’s not like other dogs. while most dogs, whether due to the threat of competition or just plain gluttony, gobble their food down in a matter of seconds, my dog eats just a bit here and a bit there. she’ll go through, like, a cup and a half of dry dog food every two days. she always has food available but, i think, chooses to eat just random bites at no specific time. i’m guessing only when she’s hungry which is why, under all that fur, she is actually quite skinny. when mikey and i eat our dinner, there she is…nom, nom, nom…. just a few bites, nothing more, always turning to look at us (mainly because she can feel our stares) as if to say “oh really? dry dog food again? how original!” then she won’t touch it for the rest of the evening. until later, late in the night or early in the morning, you can hear nom, nom, nom…clink clank (her dog tags scraping her bowl). then she’ll pace the apartment, checking the front door, climbing up on the bed. until hours later…nom, nom, nom….
growing up, we fed our dogs (aside from raw hides or milk bones) just once a day…around five. i think it was my job to feed them and if i remember correctly, the amount was two or three cups…or four. i don’t remember exactly, but all our dogs just ate their food so quickly because, well, if they didn’t, one or the other might come over and finish it off and nobody wants that to happen. and so i thought maybe my dog eats so leisurely because there was no other dog to finish it off should she not eat all of it at once. although i’m pretty sure, if there were another dog, delia would kill it first, then go about her dinner. but having polled other people, many with just one dog, i’ve learned that most dogs eat all their meal (be it once or twice a day) all at once. nope. not mine. crazy fool.
i got my haircut today. i’ve been going to roberto at Blondies for a very long time. wait, that’s a lie. i followed roberto to blondies after he left the other place he was working. he always knows just how i like my hair…but today, i asked him, do you remember what we did last time? and he said yes, super short on the sides and back and very militaristic on the top, but just enough length to throw some gel in it. and i said, yes, let’s do that again…except he didn’t. which is fine. my hair still looks great (doesn’t it always though?) but he left it much longer on the top than he did last time which makes me wonder if he doesn’t actually remember what he did last time. and it made me sad because i feel like i’m his number one client even though he’s really popular and probably has many many clients. but i thought i was special and he doesn’t even remember my last hair cut!
so i’ll let it slide this time and i would hate to say “oh, can we go shorter…you know, like last time?” because then he might feel bad.
i’m excited about Project Runway starting up again.
oh, and just for fun:
oh and ps: kimmie gibbler has two kids. i don’t think she’d make a great mom because i remember when she let michelle tanner get her head stuck in the staircase railing.
