so sunday’s show was a mixed blessing.  for one thing, i apparently received a craigslist missed connection that says something along the lines of “you sucked, but you’re hot, let’s get a drink”… it’s since been removed, but not by my doing.  i can handle it.  besides, they said i’m hot and it could be from any number of people i insulted that night, or their friends, or it could very well be my stalker Unstable Mabel who managed to sneak his way in to Nellies on Sunday night.

i don’t make excuses for my performances if they don’t go so well.  i tried out new material, some of it didn’t work, but that’s what these little non-paying gigs are for.  and sometimes, the crowd just isn’t in to it and therefor, i’m not really into it.  in addition to the technical difficulties, a terrible set up within the bar (it was so packed and the audience was insanely close), it was a bachelor auction and not a comedy show, so…most people were there for the auction, not to see me up there rambling on about myself.  so i tried to keep it short because obviously most of the audience was made up of pervy old men who wanted to see the bachelors (and by bachelors i mean guys who look 15), they didn’t really care who was up there talking on the mic…as evidenced by the fact that even during two other speakers before me, the crowd showed little interest and kept talking rather loudly.  but, once the bidding started, they were into it since that’s what they came for and we were able to raise a lot of money for Ganymede arts.

i thought i had handled the technical glitches rather well.  REMIX!

I’m much looking forward to a real night of comedy at Town on June 12 when i open for Judy Gold.
